Community Engagement Efforts to Date
Community engagement for the Downtown Access Project started in January 2019 (before the project had a name), with the first stakeholder group meeting. Since then, the team has focused on grassroots outreach to residents and businesses along the project corridor. These efforts include:
90+
meetings with stakeholders and the community to share information and receive feedback
Numerous
“boots on the ground”
efforts in the neighborhoods adjacent to the freeway
1,100+
phone surveys to gather input on the project
1,000+
members of the community receiving regular emails with project information and updates
Community Interactions
Direct interaction with members of the community allows the project team to better understand the community’s history and hopes for the future.
Community interactions during our various outreach efforts. The project’s proposed impacts are centered between I-15 and Eastern, which corresponds with the concentration of interactions in this area.
